Rachel Mary Montoya Garcia passed away peacefully on October 20th, 2022 in Logan Utah. Rachel was born in Raton, New Mexico to Ray and Mary Montoya. She is survived by her sons Dion (Trish), Chris and Sev.
Also survived by her siblings; Josephine, Eddie, Berta (John Martinez), Alice (Kelly Loosly), Rosemary (Kenneth Kautz) and Sister-in law Viola Montoya. Also survived by her grandchildren; Jordan, Zachary, Ashlee, Anthony, Alexis, Jadon, Destiny, Ava and little Sequorah. Great grandchildren; Sevana, Kathee, Kiarha , Amillio and Anastasia. As well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Mary, her brothers; Larry, Gilbert, Raymond and Benny Montoya.
Rachel was a loving mother to her sons, her happiest moments in life were with her boys and her grandchildren. She took great pride in her home, her yard and her love for animals. She had a tremendous love for her dog Louis.
Rachel had a great love for the Lord and for reading scripture. Her faith was with the Seventh Day Adventist religion.
Rachel showered her family with her humorous and unique personality. She loved her conversations with her family and friends and would spend hours chatting and sharing her love and laughter.
Year after year her traditional Christmas Eve Gathering at her home will be a cherished memory for our family forever. Rachel’s cooking was the center of every holiday, she enjoyed making great food for everyone to enjoy. She was our go to for the best recipes. She loved being surrounded by her family, going camping and enjoying cookouts. She loved Latin music and was a gifted dancer.
Rachel was very committed to her work receiving many honors and awards over the course of twenty three years.
Her memory will be kept alive for generations to come, she will be missed deeply. She will be in our hearts forever and ever until we meet again.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah. Interment will follow immediately at the Memorial Redwood Cemetery at the same address.
