Raymond Reed Villiard, 60, of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2021. Ray or Ray-Ray as he was known to his loved ones was a devoted family man and friend.
He started working in the flooring business at a young age initially at Carpet Giant before joining the family business Carpet Fixer. He is easily described as a flooring expert but he was skilled at almost any job presented to him. Ray was eager to teach anyone who needed guidance in all aspects of life. In his spare time, he enjoyed helping his oldest son babysit his grandchildren, traveling, poker every Tuesday with his buddies, mining for gold in ghost towns, and football especially his NFL team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He enjoyed traveling and some of his favorite trips included Wendover, Reno, Las Vegas, Lake Powell, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, and Mexico. He would tell anyone going to Mexico or the beach that you had to eat bananas flambe on the beach. His most cherished place to spend time was at “The Ranch” in Lehi, Utah and he has described it as his favorite place on Earth. He had a big, loving heart and was always willing to help anyone whether he knew them or not. He has been known to lend or give anyone his last five dollars if they needed it. The way he could light up a room, make us smile, and laugh will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Vernon Mathew Beckstead and Alma Clayton, paternal grandparents Raymond Leon and Rosina Talbot, mother Verna Larry McClintick, father Albert “Daddy Reed” Villiard, and his son Christian Parish Villiard.
He is survived by Keith McClintick (Sandi) who in his eyes is without a doubt his father as he was the man who raised Ray, loved him unconditionally, taught him the flooring industry, and most importantly the man Ray looked up to the most in the world. His surviving siblings are Troy Villiard (Bea), Tawny Lloyd (Kelly), Tristina Villiard, and Shelly Villiard. He is survived by his first wife Robyn(Bobbee) Luke and children Weston Villiard (Karley) and grandchildren Brixton Villiard and Dylan Villiard, his second wife Catherine (Catie) Christensen-Scorzato and children Alixandra Villiard and KC-Ray Villiard, and his third wife Lori VonWald and children Tanner VonWald-Villiard, Tia VonWald-Villiard, and Jada VonWald-Villiard.
A special thank you to Lehi Rodriguez and Serenity Funeral Home and staff for their generosity and compassion during this difficult time.
An outdoor celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 PM at 10314 South 2460 East Sandy, UT 84092.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Ray’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
