Robert Edgar Higginson, born August 28, 1942, to Eleanor “Tootsie” Durst Higginson and Harold Guymon Higginson in Murray, Utah, peacefully passed away on April 6, 2026, in Provo, Utah.

Bob graduated from Murray High School in 1960. He served in the Navy and then returned to begin his education at Brigham Young University, where he earned a Master’s degree. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming in 1989.

Bob loved being in the mountains, Sunday drives, BYU sports, his family, and his friends. He was a lifelong learner, teacher, and follower of Jesus Christ.

Survived by: his siblings, Larry Higginson and Coleen (Higginson) Johnson; his children, Becky (Steve) Ward, Andy (Adria) Higginson, Emily (Scott) Blackwelder, Sarah Bybee, and Amanda (Jason) Cieslik; sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: his parents, Harold Higginson and Eleanor Dixon; his siblings, Harold Higginson and Tommy Higginson; and his daughter, Amy (Higginson) Banks.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Courtyard at Jamestown, 3352 East 100 North, Provo, UT 84604. Graveside service to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, Utah around 3:30 p.m.
