Bob made his living working for the printing business – mainly newspapers. He started at BYU and he finished his career at the U of U helping to publish their school paper and other publications. He loved the newspaper business. He retired in 1998.

In 1966 Butch married Carole. Bob and Carole had two children. James (Jim) was born on the same day as his grandfather James. Jim was also the first of the grandchildren for James Robert and Wilma. And Jodi was born a year later. Bob and Carole divorced in Oct 1971.

Bob became a good bowler. He became involved with some bowling leagues and it became a large part of his social life. He helped in organizing big bowling award banquets.

He met Janice at a bowling tournament and they were married in 1983. Janice had three children LaRee, Kent and Jashon that he took on as his own and then they had Jonathan a year later.

He was a hard worker and the best gardener, his fresh tomatoes could never be replicated.. they were the best.

He loved the outdoors and would take the family camping often. And was a part of several camping clubs.

He loved to fish and take long drives just to look at nature and the mountains.

He would come to his grandkids baseball games and be their biggest fan until his health declined. And was an avid sports fan. He loved watching his grandkids.

He had many church callings and was very dedicated to service in the LDS church and in his later years visiting the temple was something he truly looked forward to. He served in the temple for over 20 years.

He is now free of his ailing body. He is able to walk around again without pain. He has left us but we know he is in a better place. We will miss him and he has left many good memories for us to treasure.
