Robert Blaine “Coke” Glaittli Passed away unexpectedly in his home on Monday, November 14, 2022.
Coke was born in Salt Lake City November 1, 1936 to Emil and Marjorie Glaittli. When Coke was a baby, they used to rub his head and called him a coconut which eventually turned into Coke. Coke attended South High School.
He began his career working in his dad's garage as a mechanic, but quickly changed careers and started working for his dad’s friend Clyde Hickson as an electrician. In 1970 Coke started his own electrical company and called it Coke Electric. Many of the large commercial buildings around the Salt Lake valley are examples of his craftsmanship. Coke Electric now run by his son and son-in-law continues to be a big part of the growth around the valley today.
“I may not know my ABC's but I do know my 1-2-3's !!!”
Coke enjoyed fishing in Alaska, spending time on the lake with family and friends (especially Bear Lake and Lake Powell), and snowmobiling, but most of all he loved his cabin which was set next to his dad’s cabin in Lambs Canyon.
Coke is survived by his wife, Colleen, his children Dwayne, Todd, Kelly, Sherrie, and Toni, their spouses, 14 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Coke touched the lives of many people that others might call strangers, but Coke never turned away a person in need, offering work, shelter, and friendship.
