Robert Ralph Olsen
June 19, 1929 – May 30, 2026
Robert Ralph Olsen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the age of 96.
He was born on June 19, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, to Walter John Olsen and Viola Edith Beckford Olsen. He married Virginia Lee Holland on March 6, 1954, in Yuma, Arizona. Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS temple, and together they built a life grounded in faith, family, service, and hard work.
Robert lived in Toquerville, Utah, for 57 years, where he became a respected and well-known member of the community. He served as the town marshal and worked in a variety of roles throughout his life, including assisting with building projects, working in local orchards, and helping build and maintain Toquerville City Park.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he received an award for implementing a sealant process innovation. He was later honored with the Pioneer Award in 2004 in recognition of his lifelong service and contributions.
He served an LDS mission and remained devoted to his faith throughout his life.
He enjoyed gardening, hunting, woodworking, spending time outdoors, watching classic films, and traveling to the Pacific Northwest. He was skilled with his hands and known for his willingness to help others with building and repair projects.
He also had a fondness for dogs and enjoyed their companionship throughout his life.
Above all, Robert was a man of quiet strength, humility, and service who could always be counted on by family, friends, and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lee Olsen; his children Wayne Olsen (Caleen), Susanne Olsen, and Alison Reynolds (Kevin); 12 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his children Drew Olsen, Ardonna Lee Olsen and John Robert Olsen.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, service, and love for family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Toquerville City Cemetery.
