Ronald Dee Moulton 90, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on July 28, 2026, in Holladay, Utah. He was born October 23, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Hyrum Rufus Moulton and Ivie LaRea Morriss Moulton. His care free years were the 1940’s and early 50’s. A time to run free through the fields and orchards with his dog by his side. It was a time of green apples, swimming at spring run, playing kick the can with his cousin Reggie and close friends, Ted and Herb, along with others who lived on Murphy Lane. He had a close group of friends, most of them attended Olympus High School together. He was part of the first graduating class of 1954 (4 Children, 11 out of 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandkids have all graduated from Olympus High School). Ron worked in the engineering field as an engineering technician.

Ron met Vallerie Ann Whiteman on a group date and that was the beginning of their story. They were married on April 16,1958. Later Sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 18, 1958. They were married for 60 happy years, until Vallerie’s passing in 2018. They had 4 wonderful children 3 daughters and 1 son. Dad’s family was the center of his life and it was important to him to support them in all they did. He was a member of the LDS church and held many callings.

He loved the outdoors, and spent as much time as possible skiing in the winter, hiking in the spring, camping, fishing, gardening and time at Capistrano Beach, CA in the summer, and loved to look at the colors and oil paint them in the fall.

He is survived by his children Traci (Richard) Baird, Salt Lake City; Steven (Claudia) Moulton, Salt Lake City; Nancy (Ken) Rowley, St George; Diane “Boo” Bright, St. George; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great -great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vallerie; parents; brothers, Hyrum and Dwayne; sister Carole; Grandson -in -law, Caz Lupus; great granddaughter, Autumn Faith Lupus.

We want to thank and express our appreciation to Utah Home Health and Hospice and the wonderful team, Jess, Clara, Carla and Nysje, for taking such wonderful care of our dad.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the LDS Church located at 4568 Holladay Blvd., Holladay Utah, with a viewing prior from 9:30 -10:30 AM.

Interment will be at Memorial Holladay Cemetery.
