Ronald Harper Lepley
09/24/49 to 08/22/24
Ron 74 passed away on Aug 22, 2024 due to a long battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer. He moved to Utah when he was 14 from California. He met his wife Ila Wilkinson when he attended Provo High School, and they married in November 1969. Ron attended Salt Lake Community College in Mechanical Engineering. Ron and Ila moved to Downey California in 1969, and they moved back to Utah in 1973. On August 12th, 1972, he joined the Army National Guard until June 4th, 1976.
He worked for Eimco/FL Smidth as a manager of vacuum, filtration of engineering from September 1973 to January 22, 2015, when he retired.
They had 2 beautiful and great children. Son Ben Harper Lepley born in 1976 and daughter Bobbi Jean Lepley born in 1980.
He was an expert in archery, winning many trophies. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, shooting guns, ATV/ side by side riding and golfing.
He loved being at the property where he and his family spent time with our Avintaquin family and friends. We spent many summers riding, shooting, eating good food with friends and family. It was his little piece of heaven.
He had a great sense of humor which frequently included dad jokes (that only he could pull off) dad jokes such as It’s cheese, DYNOMITE, 10-4 good buddy, gold medal, what the F#*k over, and he did not want any of them damn TATER TOTS and would love to get the grandkids to play along. He was known as PAPA to the grandkids, and the best one they could’ve had.
He was an expert stager (AKA engineer) in any and all projects. He loved his SWEETS and food. He would always say sweets before dinner and after.
He is proceeded in death by (Father) James Ray Lepley Senior, (Mother) Ruby Francis McCloud Lepley and many uncles and aunts and his dogs Wrinkles, Thor, Harley and Digger.
Survived by (Wife) Ila Lepley, Son Ben (Wife Lorie) Lepley, (Daughter) Bobbi Lepley, (Grandchildren) Breeanna Lepley, Kira Lepley, Jackson Jeppeson, (Brother) James Ray Lepley, (Nephew) James Ray Lepley Jr (Wife Devona) Lepley, (Neice) Ann Lepley Donahue.
Services will be held at the Ridge Golf Course 5055 Westbridge Blvd, West Valley, UT. 84118 on Saturday September 28, 2024, from 5pm to 9pm, food and drinks will be served.
