Ronald J Taylor, aged 88 years, passed away on December 29, 2020. He was born on April 1, 1932 to Effie Spencer and Jesse Taylor.

Ron married Dorothy Simpson on September 9, 1955. They were married for 65 years. He was the father of 4 sons; Ronnie, Raymond, Randall and Ryan.

He joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and served 4 years during the Korean conflict. He then served in the Naval Reserves where he retired with honors.

Ron spent a lot of his life as a fireman for South Salt Lake. He retired from Fort Douglas as fire chief.

He is preceded in death by his son, Randall, and his 2 brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Taylor, and his sons; Ronnie, Raymond and Ryan.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah. There will be a viewing from 12:00 pm to 2:00 PM held at the same location prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow.

Following the State of Utah’s mandate on facial coverings, face masks are required at all public gatherings. Social distancing will be enforced.
