Ronald Victor Burgener

Sep 21, 1932 Jul 1, 2024

Ronald Victor Burgener, our loving Father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather left this mortal life and returned home on July 1, 2024. Ron was born in Salt Lake City on September 21, 1932 to Victor Alma Burgener and Bertha Irene Dickman. Ron married Gladys Louise Gudmundson on October 28, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. As a boy the family lived in various homes until 1939 when the family moved to the home built by his father. Ron served in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean war and was discharged May 4, 1954.

Ron worked hard at providing for his family. The family lived in Utah until a transfer to Washington state by Central Solvents in 1968. Camping, fishing and boating were favored family activities while living in Washington. In 1976 the family moved back to Utah until Ron retired. After a few years Ron and Gladys moved to Arizona to be close to family. After 8 years they moved back to Utah. Utah was their “home”.

Ron enjoyed classical music and was often caught “leading the orchestra” by his daughters while listening to his albums. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ron served in various positions. He also served as a worker in the Mesa Arizona Temple and the Mt. Timpanogos Temple which brought him much joy. Ron treasured his Swiss ancestry and visited Switzerland twice.

He is survived by his two daughters Shauna Richins(Jon) and Lisa Daniels(Henry), eight grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, sister Barbara Blomquist and sister Karen Burgener. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother Eldon.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday July 9 at 10:00AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy Utah, followed by a graveside service.
