Sanford Wayne Branham, 81, of Salt Lake City Utah passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 17th, 2026 in Salt Lake City. Born on May 2, 1944 in Newberry, South Carolina to William Clinton and Pauline Hawkins Branham.
Wayne grew up in South Carolina and graduated from Eau Claire High in Columbia. Subsequently he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in England. After returning home, he moved west to Utah where he met and married his sweet love Carol Jane, having four children together.
Wayne was a spirited person who worked as a Property / Building caretaker for the LDS church, as well as running his own carpet cleaning business. He loved buying cleaning products and making things look clean and brand new.
Wayne loved to socialize and always enjoyed a front porch rocking chair, heartfelt conversation, and playing the guitar. He was always down for a music jam session. While singing good tunes he’d kick in his charming accent, tell a witty joke and leave you with his contagious smile. Wayne was loved and favored by many. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by William Clinton Branham, Pauline Hawkins Branham, and Carol Jane Nelson Branham. He is survived by his siblings Harold Branham, Donna B. Barnhurst (Larry) Odum, Gloria (Gary) Rowe, and Bud (Patti) Branham. His children Charles (Jen) Branham, Clarisa (Andrew) Johnston, Sharla (Chris) Heydorf, and William Branham. His grandchildren and expecting a great grandchild. Special last words to his children, “Peace, Love, Unity”.
