Sara Ann Smith Brown passed away February 4th 2024 on her 84th birthday. She was born in Santaquin Utah in 1940 to Barbara F. Thornley and Milvin H. (Slim) Smith, the oldest of their 5 daughters. Sara worked alongside her father on the farm and could harness and work a team of horses at the age of 12. She was known for her horsemanship and became the Blackhawk Rodeo Queen in 1955 on a borrowed horse. She married Kenneth R. Brown November 14th 1959 and together they had 2 daughters, Sharon (Bert) Kendall Mt. Pleasant and Leslie (Kevin) Garrett Cedar City. They were later divorced. She went back to college later in life and received her Associates Degree in Computer Science and a Certificate in Accounting as a grandmother. After graduating she worked for Robert Slade, a stock market software company, until she retired. One of her proudest accomplishments was the building and purchase of her home in Payson.
Her daughters would like to thank Heather Addington and the staff of Laurel Grove Assisted Living in Nephi, Utah, for their kind and patient care of their Mom.
Sara is survived by her daughters, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. Sisters Bunny (Paul) Mower Payson and Lucy (Michael) Vengrow Prosper, TX.
Preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jeanne Dewsnup and Frances Tanner, granddaughter Andrea Kendall, great grandsons Brennen Reese and Ledger Lewis, and the best dog MAX.
All are invited to attend a visitation Saturday February 10th, 11 am to 12 pm, held at Rasmussen Mortuary Mt. Pleasant, Utah.
