Sara Marie Bronson April 12, 2004 – July 23, 2026

Earth had a shining star, but heaven got a rock star.

Sara Marie Bronson, 22, of St. George, Utah, passed away on July 23, 2026, in a rafting accident north of Boise, Idaho.

Born on April 12, 2004, in Hilldale, Utah. She married Jonathan Bronson on January 1, 2025, on a beautiful overlook outside Gunlock, Utah. In the short time they shared, she became his whole world: a perfect mixture of sunshine and hurricane, equal parts adventure and unwavering love.

Faith was the center of Sara’s life. After her baptism into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 27, 2024, she attended the temple nearly every day, joyfully performing baptisms for the dead. She served as a temple ordinance worker at the Red Cliffs Temple for the past year and, more recently, as a chapel coordinator every Thursday afternoon. Christ was the most important person in her life; everything else flowed from that devotion.

Sara’s heart was endlessly generous. She loved her twelve nieces and nephews (with two more on the way) with pure delight, and she adored Jonathan’s children, David and Josie. She celebrated her best friend Emma Hager’s recent marriage and was thrilled to stand beside her as a bridesmaid. She had a gift for making everyone she met feel seen and valued—her bright smile and open affection earned her the reputation of a true “ray of sunshine.” People often said she was one of a kind. She also absolutely adored her two dogs, Bruce and G, who were constant companions and sources of joy.

Curious and eager to learn, Sara approached life with wonder. She earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification in October 2025 and was recently hired at IHC’s Behavioral Health Center as a technician and event coordinator, excited to help those in need. She held a third-degree black belt in Bobby Lawrence Karate, awarded May 6, 2023. She loved to cook amazing meals, draw and paint, solve brain-teaser puzzles, camp, hike, and explore on ATVs. She dreamed of backpacking and of seeing the world—Hawaii (twice already, with a third trip planned), Washington D.C. for the Fourth of July, and bucket-list destinations that included New York City, Japan, London, the Maldives, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Bora Bora. She was preparing to apply for her passport so she could begin traveling internationally.

Sara is survived by her husband, Jonathan Bronson; her stepchildren, David and Josie Bronson; her parents, Emma and Charles Jessop; her sisters, Miranda Jessop, Jessica Lewis, Brittany Holm, and Kloris Jessop; her twelve beloved nieces and nephews; and her two dogs, Bruce and G. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Charles Jessop Jr., in April 2025.

A public viewing will be held Sunday, August 2nd at 4:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary in St. George. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 166 South Main Street, St. George, UT. Sara’s light was brief but brilliant. She leaves behind a legacy of service, curiosity, laughter, and fierce love—proof that a life fully given to Christ and to others can shine far beyond its years.
