Sherman B Smith passed away December 25, 2021 in Millcreek, Utah, at the age of 85. He was born on July 13, 1936, in Murray Utah to Clarence Ivory Smith and Gertrude Irene Butler. He married Gwen Bloxham October 19, 1959.
Sherman was married to the love of his life for 60 years. Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake City temple in Nov 1975. Together they raised 10 children + adopted many, many more. He was a truck driver for 42 years with no chargeable accidents. He received an honorable discharge from the US navy after serving in the Korean War. He was a 3rd class petty officer aviation electronics technician receiving his air crew wings. He was awarded the Navy Good Conduct medal, the National Defense medal, Korean Service medal, and United Nations Service medal from the US navy. He also received the South Korea (Rok) Service Medal from the Republic of South Korea as a thank you. He is survived by his children – Penney Dalton, Gordon (Camille) Smith, Gene (Laura) Smith, Glenn (Allerga) Smith, Garth (Misty) Smith, Peggy (Jason) Hurd, and Lewis Walker. His brother, Charles Smith + sister, Charlene Forsgren. 27 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gwen, sweet baby, Sterling, his mother, Gertrude, Father, Ivory, and siblings.
