Sidney Keith Groberg
May 11, 1952 ~ June 14, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, mentor, confidant, and friend, Sidney Keith Groberg.
Sidney Keith Groberg, known to family and friends simply as Keith, was born on May 11, 1952, in Ogden, Utah. Keith passed away peacefully at home in Kingman, Arizona, at the age of 74, held in the loving arms of his wife, Candace.
After retirement, Keith made his home in Kingman, drawn by his beloved desert landscape and the proximity to one of his favorite pastimes—gambling. He found joy in the beauty of the Southwest and embraced the life he built there with Candace by his side.
Keith will be remembered for his unique spirit, the life he lived on his own terms, and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
Born in 1952 to Richard and Jean Groberg, Keith grew up in a large and loving family and carried the values of hard work and loyalty throughout his life.
Keith graduated in 1970 from Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah. After graduation, he joined the Air Force in 1971. He had a whirlwind romance with our mother, Jill Groberg. They married in Reno, Nevada on September 14th, 1972. After a small celebration, they drove all night to get to San Diego to report for duty. He was then stationed in Madrid, Spain, and was honorably discharged in 1975.
Those who knew Dad will remember his love of fishing and the way he took every opportunity to get out on the water. Some of our favorite memories were made camping as a family, especially after he bought a tent trailer and put it to good use on countless adventures. Dad loved cooking and was remarkably good at it, always finding joy in preparing meals for family and friends.
Dad loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and looked every bit the biker, proudly sporting his beard, mustache, and leather riding gear. Tourists were often so intrigued by his look that they would ask to take pictures with him. He got a kick out of their curiosity and was especially proud of his beard. He would gladly let people touch it and loved seeing their surprise when they discovered how soft it was.
Whether he was sharing a story from his childhood or recounting a recent adventure, Dad always had a story to tell. He had a gift for telling those stories with such enthusiasm and humor that everyone around him would be laughing along. He never met a stranger he couldn't strike up a conversation with.
Everywhere Dad went, he seemed to find "just the right rock" to bring home for his rock garden. If you stopped by his house, chances are you would find him "puttering" around in his garage, working in the garden, or planning his next project. He found happiness in keeping busy, creating things with his hands, and spending time with the people he loved.
These are the memories we will carry with us—the laughter, the stories, the camping trips, the motorcycle rides, and the countless small moments that made Dad uniquely himself.
