Stephanie Fryer

Jan 27, 1976 Feb 12, 2025

“I’m going to make everything around me beautiful—That will be my life.”

Our beautiful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Stephanie Fryer, passed away unexpectedly due to illness in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 12, 2025. Stephanie was born January 27, 1976 in Murray, Utah to Richard Ralph Fryer and Ellen Chapman. She grew up in West Valley City, Utah where she graduated from Granger High School. She obtained an associate degree in Interior Design from LDS Business College and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Western Governors University.

Stephanie surrounded herself with beauty, bright colors, and the things that brought her joy and peace. She loved music, nature, and people. As a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she served a mission to the Missouri St. Louis Mission and served in many capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including as the current Relief Society president in the Ensign Peak ward. She was employed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the CES Commissioner’s Office. She worked hard, played hard, loved life, and did her best at anything she was asked to do. Stephanie truly understood and lived the teaching “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God,” finding great delight in serving others through kind words and thoughtful gifts. She had a great capacity for hearing and following the guidance of the Spirit in blessing the lives of others.

We will miss her sharp wit, laughter, love, and the light that she radiated to all she met. Stephanie was the life of every party she attended and a friend to everyone. She was able to make people feel welcome and comfortable in any setting. Her eye for design, her creativity, and her thoughtful nature were on display in her home, in every gift she generously gave, and in every potluck dish that she shared. We were truly blessed by her ability to love freely. Stephanie embodied Christ’s admonition to love one another.

Stephanie is survived by her beloved parakeets Luna and River, parents Ellen and Dale Clyde, sisters Hillari Bollard (Matt), Mary Ann Daley, Cherlyn Thornton (Greg), and brothers Joseph Fryer (Raquel), Peter Clyde, and D.J. Clyde (Candace). She loved being “Aunt Stepha” to her nieces Lauryn Pritchard (Wade), Audrey Bollard, and Alison Daley. She is also survived by long-time best friend, Juan Pereira, and many others. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Ralph Fryer and her grandparents.

A viewing for friends and family will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Ensign Peak Ward located at 155 North Sandrun Road, Salt Lake City, Utah. An additional viewing will be held at the same location on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at 12:00 noon. Interment will be held at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 S. Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah.
