Theresa Marie Munford
August 11, 1963 – March 17, 2025
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Theresa Marie Munford of Mount Pleasant on March 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Theresa’s strength, warmth, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born in Minnesota, Theresa later moved to Utah in 1989, where she built a remarkable career over 35 years with the Mountain Star Health System. A dedicated and respected healthcare professional, she played an instrumental role in establishing the open-heart program at Timpanogos Hospital in Orem — a lasting legacy of her commitment to saving lives. Dr. Thorne, a significant mentor, inspired her, and she, in turn, inspired countless others with her compassion and leadership.
Theresa’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her heart knew no limits — she extended her home and love to foster children Richard and Marvin Woods and Bobby Cox, nurturing them as her own.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband Todd; her children Anthony and Payton; stepchildren Renin (Austin) and Robee (Gavyn); her father Richard Tody; siblings Marvin (Pam), Melvin (Judy), James, Debra (Jay) Doeden, Ronald, Wendy (Shane) Richardson, LuAnn (Dan) Dumonceaux, and Tammi; grandchildren Sophia, Serenity, River, Bridger, and Cove; her dearest friend Lana Carter; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
She now joins her mother, LeNeve (Hess) Tody; her mother-in-law Grandma Ann; grandparents Emil and Odelia Hess and Philip and Ethel Tody; and her nephew Matthew in eternal peace.
A special, heartfelt appreciation goes to Lana — Theresa’s lifelong best friend and unwavering source of strength — who lovingly helped care for Theresa throughout her final year. Lana’s devotion, kindness, and tireless support provided comfort and peace, allowing Theresa to feel surrounded by love in her most difficult moments. The family will be forever grateful for her incredible compassion and friendship.
Theresa’s kindness, strength, and selflessness left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though her physical presence is gone, her light will continue to shine through the love she gave and the memories she created.
Sotie Strong — we miss you deeply and love you forever.
A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held in Minnesota at a later time.
A beautiful soul, left this earth, with pure light, Left in hearts, of so many, time up to give up her fight.
That was much more courage, than we' ever know.
But with each new sunrise, I'm sure she will show.
How precious life is, we've been blessed, with her gift,
From the heavens, our angel, she'll continue to lift.
Our feelings, our love, in all that we do,
Sotie Strong, we so miss you, know how much we love you!❤️
