Thomas William Halstead

Mar 31, 1956 Jan 21, 2026

Thomas William Halstead passed away after a life of goodness and devotion to his wife and family on January 21, 2026. He was born March 31, 1956, in Escondido, California to his father Chesley Ellsworth (Red) Halstead, Jr. and mother, Beverly Mae Aubrey. He married the love of his life, Darlena Belle Burnett on April 7, 1979, in Mountain Home, Idaho. They are the proud parents of five daughters, Rhonda, Angela, Terri, Linda, and Tona. Together they created a beautiful life as they raised their family and made wonderful memories together.

Tom honorably served his country for four years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Jet Engine Mechanic at George Air Force Base, Victorville, California.

He had a long career as a Senior Jet Engine Specialist. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, 4 wheelers, sand rails, and his side by side. His hobbies included tinkering in the garage, feeding humming birds, wood working, playing guitar and drawing.

Tom had a wonderful sense of humor. You could always count on a wave from him as you passed by. He was always serving others in his own special way. He was considered a great neighbor and friend to all.

He was especially selfless in how he cared for and served his wife for many years during her health struggles.

Tom is survived by his daughters Rhonda (Steve Otteson), Angela (Philip Hammer), Terri (Kelly Johnson), Linda (Ray Sisk), Tona (Stephen Hibbitts); 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; his sister Mari Jo; brothers Larry and Brian; sister-in-law Rena Murphy and life-long friend “brother” Rick Emlet.

Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife, Darlena, parents and brother Bobby.

We celebrate the wonderful reunion taking place with Tom and his beloved wife, Darlena. We love you Dad, we will always miss you, but we rejoice with you that you and Mama are together once again.
