Val Michael Peterson, Age 50, Passed away unexpectedly from natural causes in Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 15, 2024. He was born April 4, 1974, in St George, Utah, to Mike Peterson and Kaye Hafen Peterson. He was married to Cally Clark Peterson on April 27, 2013, in St George, Utah.
Val was raised in St George and graduated from Dixie High School. He went to college and, as he stated, he “mastered in beer drinking.” He also went to Farrier school in Phoenix, Arizona. He had many professions including cement, woodworking, horse shoeing, and was most recently a superintendent at Grass Creek Construction.
Val loved rodeo, hunting, golfing, baseball, and camping where he was the master at Dutch oven cooking – especially his breakfast burritos. Everyone knew to stay out of his camp kitchen. Val tried to act all big and tough, but at the end of the day, he had the biggest heart and always showed up.
From day one he was the rock of the family; when he was called upon, he would drop everything to be there. He loved all his kids. Blood or not, they were considered his. He absolutely adored his wife, saying all the time that she was his soulmate and he was so grateful that she came into his life. His boys state that he may have been rough on them, but he would do anything for them. You could always find him on the ballfield or at the wrestling mats. He was his boys’ biggest fan!
You never wondered what was on Val’s mind, and at the end of the day, he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Cally, whom he loved more than life; his children, TI-Austin White, Jayden Peterson, Kayden Goodman, Jaxton Peterson, and Kobe Goodman; his mother, Kaye (Rulon) Johnson; his sisters, Kelle (Tim) Roberts, Mika (Cameron) Kent and Mitzi Peterson; his brother-in-law, Erik (Nicole) Bullock; sister-in-law, Cady (Daniel) Padron; mother-in-law, Debbie Clark; and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his dad, Mike Peterson; father-in-law, Cody Clark; his nephew, Caide Roberts; and his grandparents.
