Verdell Dyches, age 95, passed away on December 14, 2022, in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born on July 6, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Dyches and Margaret Jane Llewellyn Dyches. He married Donna Mae Lyman on June 29, 1956.
Verdell was a veteran of the United States Navy and he retired from Mountain Fuel Supply company after 38 years of service. Verdell was an active member in community and civic organizations including the Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club International, where he served as a District Governor for the state of Utah. He loved to go camping and hunting and was always ready to plan and coordinate activities for family and friends.
He is survived by his brother Ted Dyches; daughters Nancy Blanchard, Melanie Barker and Tammera Fahey; grandchildren Jim Blanchard, Tina Presuhn, Jesse Barker and Jason Barker; as well as 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Donna Mae Dyches, parents William and Margaret Dyches, and sisters Jennie Lee Kent and LaRue Baldwin.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on December 28, 2022, at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah 84070. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to services.
Interment will be at Memorial Lake Hills Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah 84070.
