Vonna Rae Polad Plescia, age 84, passed away March 11, 2025, in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born June 2, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Harry Emanuel Polad and Vonna Fullmer Polad. She married Ralphael Plescia in Salt Lake City on November 21, 1956.
Rae, as she preferred to be called, was a brilliant person, an avid reader, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and word puzzles. She enjoyed her garden, which was mostly cared for by her husband, Ralph. She and Ralph were long-time members of the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir. They enjoyed annual nationwide tours with the choir each spring and were able to see a great deal of the United States during these excursions. Even near the end of life, she would often sing, sometimes the same pieces performed with the choir. She loved to travel and to visit our family members who live in Oregon on a frequent basis. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Survived by daughter Neena C. Plant-Henninger, son Phillip Ralphael Plescia (Terry), son-in-law Russell Rolfson, sisters Mary Lynne Polad, Deanna Lou Polad Gill (Francis) and Shelley Jean Polad Powell (Terry), granddaughter Andrea Plescia Allen (Gerald “Jesse” Haiduk), grandsons Shawn V.
