Wade’s brilliant mind understood all manner of complicated electronic, audiovisual, automotive, mechanical and aeronautic engineering challenges. He and his brother Ray were auto mechanics with Dan Enniss at Enniss Automotive Services, Draper, Utah. His audiovisual career began at the University of Utah’s Instructional Media Service (IMS), Salt Lake City, Utah. As the owner of Joos Electronics, Wade worked closely with RIA Corporation as their video and audio design engineer for broadcast, satellite, tele-production projects. Later, Wade worked in telecommunications for the Veterans Administration where he and this team worked to build the education broadcast center at the Veterans’ Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Wade was the broadcast design engineer instrumental in installing the large audiovisual systems at the America First Field Real Soccer Stadium, Sandy, Utah; Real Women’s Soccer Field, Herriman, Utah.

Beyond his professional career, Wade, simply put, was a maker. He had a prolific creative drive. Over the years, Wade hand-built ceramics pieces, hand crafted furniture, created custom stained glass works large and small, constructed 3D printers. Most recently his technical skills were focused on scratch building radio-controlled (RC) model airplanes. He contributed his talent and generosity to both the Ute RC Association and the Remote Possibilities RC Club of St. George.

He often spoke about building airplanes and flying, describing how to calculate your gravitational center, the importance of symmetry, and the effects of drag and lift. Life metaphors for pilots and loved ones.

We’ll sign off with a common aviation farewell that expresses the hope that all goes well and wishes for a smooth and pleasant flight. . .
