Wayne Hyrum Holt

1934 ~ 2018

On August 3, 2018 we lost our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather at the age of 83 doing what he loved, camping and spending time with family. Wayne was born to Hyrum P. Holt and Verna Louise Mackay on October 24, 1934 in South Jordan, Utah. He was married to the love of his life Naola C. Newbold for 65 years.

He is survived by his wife and his sons Shelly (Jolene), Kelly (deceased) (Cindy), Cory (DeAnna), Clay (Belinda), Kerry (Lori), 14 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 3 sisters Berva, Darla, and Karen. Preceded in death by Kelly (son), Shea (granddaughter), his parents, Della Holt (stepmother), and Val (brother).

Wayne loved traveling, hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a faithful member of the LDS church and loved attending the temple. He actively served in the National Guard for 34 years and retired as a Colonel. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 9 at 11:00 A.M. at the Riverton North Stake Center at 12345 S. 2700 W. Riverton, UT. A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 8 from 6-8 P.M. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W. Riverton, UT and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.
