Weston Kay Caswell
December 29, 1942 - July 19, 2020
Weston passed away unexpectedly on 7/19/20 in Wendover Nevada.
Weston was born in Salt Lake City, UT and grew up near the state capitol. He went to Horseman Junior High School and West High School for a short time and later got his GED.
Weston married Laura Goodfellow in 1962.They had one daughter, Sheri. They later divorced.
Weston married Wanda K. Turner in 1968. They had 2 children, Wesley and Jennifer. They later divorced.
Weston was with his partner Kim Dao for 16 years, living in West Valley City, Utah until she passed in November 2019. His step daughter was Lynna Dao. Lynna loved and cared for Weston as her own father for many years.
Weston was a Vietnam Veteran. He was very proud of his military career. He served 2 tours in Vietnam. He also did a tour in Korea and Germany. He retired from the Army, as a sergeant of the 13th Signal BM 1st Air Cavalry Division as a field wireman. He earned many certificates and medals. These medals were the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service w/1 Silver Service Star and 1 Bronze Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device 1960, Bronze Star Medal, Citation w/Palm, 4 Overseas Bars. Expert Badge w/Automatic Rifle Bar, Marksman Badge w/Rifle Bar.
Weston worked at Tooele Army Depot for many years until he retired.
Weston was in a support group at the VA for the last 20 years and had made many friends over the years. He valued those friendships and treasured them dearly.
Weston is preceded in death by his mother Jessie Mangum and father Fred Standiford Sr.Sister Carolle Woodward.Weston is survived by his daughter Sheri (Bret) Dennis, Son Wesley Caswell, daughter Jennifer (Dan) Hunt, Lynna (Long Le) Dao. Sister Joyce Ann (Dean) Meyers, Sister Deborah Johnson, Brother Jimmy (Barbara) Pierce. 7 Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.
Weston loved his dogs Monica and Baby girl very much. He spent everyday with them. Going to the park and bringing them treats. We joked that he loved his dogs more than people and he said dogs love you unconditionally.
Weston was quite the joker and was always making people laugh. He cheered people up by bringing gifts and treats to them often. He had many friends who he visited and helped.He always remembered the one thing about them they liked and he would always bring them a gift.

Weston requested cremation. As a Veteran he will be interred at Camp Williams at 10 am at 17800 S. 1700 W. Bluffdale UT, 84065 on August 14, 2020. Following the burial will be a Celebration of Life for Weston at 1pm at his favorite park, West Valley City park 4552 W. 3500 S. West Valley City UT, 84120. Food and beverage served.
