William Steven Griffiths passed away at his home March 5, 2023. He was born August 28, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Ralph Griffiths and Lola Beers.
Steve had an “I can accomplish anything” attitude. He was on his own at the age of 14 and worked and lived at Clarks Veterinary Hospital where he learned things his way. He joined the Army at the age of 18 and was a Company Clerk stationed outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He mastered the art of completing government paperwork which helped him immensely when he later opened his own business.
Steve and Julie were married on January 21st, 1964. While living in Philadelphia they were blessed with two sons. They later moved to Denver, Colorado where their daughter was born. After moving to Salt Lake City, Utah Steve started his own business. He enjoyed building things, as well as hunting and fishing in Alaska and Canada. He took his family on river trips and is well known in the neighborhood for his epic water fights.
Steve was very charitable and would always help those in need. If he did not have the resources to give, he would always find a way to get them. His family always felt safe and taken care of even as they grew up and left home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Barbara, Kathy and Nancy who were there to greet him on his final journey. He is survived by his wife, Julie, two brothers, John and Don, three children Tony, Craig (Becky) and Jill along with three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three four-pawed children.
The world is hard these days so please remember Steve by being kind to each other.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 14th at 3:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy.
