Jane Barber Lambert, age 79, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 25, 2024, in St. George, Utah, following a sudden diagnosis of pneumonia. Born on August 2, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jane lived a life full of joy and adventure.

Jane grew up in Salt Lake City and attended Olympus High School, where she played the violin and sang in the school choir. She met her lifelong partner, Gary Lambert, shortly after high school, and they recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary with a cruise around the Antilles Islands. Jane earned a bachelor's degree in medical technology and a master's degree in exercise physiology from the University of Utah. She worked for the Utah State Health Department and was an active member of the Healthy Dixie committee in St. George, Utah.

A devoted member of her church, Jane held many callings and enjoyed working with the young women. Family was her greatest passion, and she cherished Sunday family gatherings and playing games with her children and grandchildren. Jane was also an avid athlete, completing marathons, playing racquetball, and golfing—proudly scoring a hole-in-one on the Bloomington golf course. She was a lifelong Utah Utes fan and enjoyed going to games whenever she could. She loved walking her beloved dog, Rosie, around the neighborhood. Together with Gary, she traveled the world. Lake Powell and Hawaii were two of her favorite destinations.

Jane married Gary Lambert in 1965, and together they raised four children: Jon, Jeff, Michelle, and Merideth. Her 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were the light of her life.

Jane is survived by her husband, Gary Lambert; her children: Jon Lambert, Jeff Lambert (Vicki), Michelle Groves (Dave), and Merideth Bruin (Rich); her 13 grandchildren; and her two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Vera Barber, and her brother, James Barber. The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Jane’s love, kindness, and generosity will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral service to celebrate Jane's life will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the LDS chapel on 3381 S. Mulberry Drive in St. George, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, she would appreciate you donating to the Doctor’s Volunteer Clinic in St. George, Utah, in her memory. https://www.volunteerclinic.org.
