Ceceile Lynette Larson Lightfoot, our beautiful blue-eyed mom, wife, grandma, great-grandma, and friend went to her Welcome Home party with her family and friends on Saturday, April 20th. She peacefully passed away in her home in Fairview, Utah shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She was born on April 5, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl Walfred and Bessie Winegar Larson. She was the 10th of 12 children and loved telling stories of rolling down the hills at the Utah State Capitol building with her siblings, trolley rides to the Great Saltair to ride the rollercoasters, and spending time with beloved nieces and nephews in the Larson family.

Ceceile attended West High School and had opportunities to show her natural athletic ability. She loved to play softball, basketball, and volleyball, she was a quick and agile runner. She loved learning and the friendships made at West High.

On November 22, 1967, her marriage to Carlton Allen Lightfoot was solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together, they have spent the last 56 years devoted to family and church service, making the world a better place wherever they went. As they raised their six children together, their busy home was filled with laughter and love. Everyone felt welcome in their home, and while the family was busy with sports, school, and service, they always had time for each other.

Ceceile’s greatest joy and life mission was to serve others. Her beautiful handwritten notes

always expressed love and concern, and she was quick to follow promptings to go and help others. The Lord trusted Ceceile to care for those around her, she would often stop whatever she had planned to drop off some homemade cookies to someone who needed her tender and loving attention.

Her service to others included many church callings from Relief Society President, Young Women’s Leader, a devoted and caring primary teacher, and ordinance worker in the Manti Temple. She also served alongside Carlton as a missionary in the Taiwan Tai Chung mission. She loved the people and culture, and helping the young missionaries they served with, but her greatest joy was sharing the love of Jesus Christ with all she met.

Ceceile’s quick wit was legendary, her playful humor was evident throughout her life. She loved to make others laugh and would go to great lengths to plan practical jokes. Her delight came in seeing those around her smile.

She loved the outdoors, and she and Carlton had many adventures with friends and family, fishing, camping, and taking long ATV rides. She loved planning these outings and looked forward to her next trip out in the trailer.

Ceceile delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to have them gather for games and fun. She took time to visit with each one of them when she got to be with them and loved hearing the details of their lives. She made sure that everyone had a treat or gift when they left Grandma’s house and shared her love freely with them.

Ceceile is survived by her husband, Carlton, son, Ryan (Jennifer) Lightfoot, daughter, Kristen Parkinson (Jon), daughter, Shonni Burnside (Justin), son, Aaron Lightfoot, daughter, Mindi Fritsch (Scott), and daughter Ashlee Garn (T.Ray). 24 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren soon to arrive. 2 sisters, Bonita Fackrell (Wendell), and Annette Richards (Ron), and sister-in-law Susan Larson (Doug) and sister-in-law Grethe Larson (Dale). She is preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Savannah Fritsch, and 9 siblings.

Ceceile’s light and love will be felt for generations, she was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Until we meet again.
